5 easy healthy habits! They’ll help you transition to a healthy lifestyle without the overwhelm
But it doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Sometimes it’s the little things – the little changes – that can have the most profound effect on your health and wellness.
You may think you have to make extreme diet changes or work out an hour a day to make a difference in your health and overall wellbeing. But that’s just not true.
There are simple things you can do to improve your health. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t strive to achieve more difficult health goals. But simple healthy habits are a great place to start when you’re trying to live a healthier life.
Simple healthy habits not only can improve your health greatly but they can also help to motivate you to reach those much bigger health goals in the future.
So if you’re wanting to live a healthier life but are feeling overwhelmed or are not sure where to start I recommend starting with these 5 easy healthy habits!
1. Drink More Water
Drinking more water every day can seriously change your life. It can help to increase your energy as well as help you lose weight.
If you want to start living a healthier life I suggest swapping out soda or coffee for a glass of refreshing water instead. Try to drink lots of water throughout the day. Most experts recommend drinking half of your body weight in ounces daily.
You’ll feel better and look better too!
2. Bask In The Sunshine
Don’t underestimate the power of sunshine! You should be spending at least 20-30 minutes a day – sunscreen-free – with the sunshine directly on your skin.
Your body creates vitamin D when your skin is exposed to the sun. Vitamin D can help to improve your mood, boost your immune system, increase your energy, and so much more!
And the best part is, it doesn’t cost a thing! Sunshine is 100% free.
Depending on where you live, what month it is, or what your work schedule looks like – getting sun every day might not always be possible.
In that case, I recommend getting a light therapy lamp. Amazon has many different ones to choose from. Most are pretty affordable.
Like I mentioned earlier, do not underestimate the power of sunshine. It’s very powerful and essential to your well-being. Most people aren’t spending enough time in the sun.
And when they are in the sun they’re usually covered in sunscreen which blocks the sun from penetrating the skin.
3. Take A Walk
Committing to a rigorous workout routine can scare most people off from living a healthy lifestyle. That’s why it’s best to start with something a little milder when you’re transitioning to living a healthier life.
Commit to walking 20-30 minutes a day 5-7 days a week. By doing that you can lower your blood sugar, increase your energy, boost immune function, strengthen your heart, and so much more!
And once again it’s totally free!
4. Drink Green Juice
Drinking green juice is an easy way to flood your body with powerful vitamins and minerals. Many of these nutrients can help protect the body from cancer and various inflammatory diseases.
Of course, you should try to eat lots and fruits and veggies throughout the day but juicing is a quick and convenient way to quickly get the nutrients your body needs.
I recommend investing in a juicer and making fresh juice whenever possible
I make juice once a week and store it in the fridge using these glasses. I try to drink a glass a day. I definitely notice a difference in my energy levels whenever I drink fresh green juice.
My green juice always consists of spinach, kale, celery, cucumber, parsley, and lemon.
5. Walk Barefoot
Grounding, also known as earthing, is when you allow your bare skin to come in direct contact with the earth. The simplest way to do this is by walking barefoot in the sand, dirt, or grass.
There hasn’t been a whole lot of research done on grounding and its benefits but there are some studies that suggest grounding can reduce stress, increase energy, reduce inflammation, and so much more.
I truly believe the key to creating and living a healthy life is to create simple healthy habits. As you create more and more of these habits the healthier you will become.
Take Away
These are all super simple habits that don’t take a whole lot of time and four of them are completely free!
