On so many occasions children get wrapped up within the gifts, of their minds (regardless that they know the true meaning of Christmas) it’s all about Santa for them it’s all about these presents underneath the tree.  The 5 gift rule is there to remind them that Christmas is about more than simply the presents. It teaches them to be grateful for the presents that they obtain, rather than merely expecting masses gifts that they’ll most likely forget about by next year!
