Your hair begins to thin a few weeks (8-12 weeks) after childbirth. You may find loose hairs on your pillows and clothes, or hairs clogging your shower drain.
This increase in hair loss is perfectly normal. Caused by a return to pre-pregnancy conditions. Hair loss after having a baby is not a sign that you are losing hair forever. Your hair should return to its normal growth pattern over time. By the time your baby is one year old, you can probably expect your hair to be as full as it usually is at the roots.
