How can You Boost Your Metabolism with Exercise
Some things that affect your metabolism that is fast or sluggish include things you don’t control, such as your age, gender, and genes. Sometimes a sluggish thyroid can reduce your metabolism. But once you realize that this is normal, it is up to you to speed it up. What really matters: Focus on exercise.
Muscle cells require a lot of energy, which means they burn a lot of calories. In fact, they burn more calories than fat cells, even when you are not exercising. So when you stop sweating, you do long workouts.
As you grow up, exercise becomes even more important. You naturally lose muscle with age, which slows down your metabolism. She can stop the slide by doing a workout.
You need to challenge your muscles in two ways:
1. Amplify your workouts
Try the interval. You can do them with any type of cardio. The basic idea is to switch back and forth between high and low intensity. You make it really challenging, and then reduce your speed, and repeat.
For example, do as many jumping jacks as you can for 1 minute and then walk for 2 minutes. Repeat for 15 minutes.
2. Lift the weights
Twice a week, do one or two sets of 10 to 15 repetitions focusing on each major muscle group such as abs, biceps, glutes, quads.
You are doing more than just helping your metabolism. Your heart, bones, and even your mood are benefited. It is a win from all four sides.
