Alcohol in skincare

There are some advantages and disadvantages of using alcohol-based products for your skin, let’s take a look at them:

Works best in oily skin:

If you have oily skin, then alcohol-based facial products help. Penetrating oil build-up and washing away dirt and grease. It also helps reduce sebum that clogs pores, thereby reducing acne and blackheads.

But if your skin is dry and sensitive, the same product can cause eczema or allergies, including dry and flaky skin.

High in Absorption:

Alcohol-based skin products are easy to penetrate the skin, so the absorption rate is high.

On the other hand, due to easy sorting, pores remain open, easily attracting potentially harmful and even toxic substances.

Botton Line:

Fatty alcohols are not harmful and benefit the skin in many ways. But if you want to avoid adverse reactions, be sure to double-check the label before adding a new product to your skincare routine.
